Is Amber Portwood a major suicide risk in prison?
The new cover of celebrity gossip tabloid OK! sure seems to imply that ... and given her history of drug use, anger issues, depression, domestic violence and 911 calls, it's probably not the biggest stretch of all time.
Wouldn't she be safer there, though? In theory?
At her worst, Amber Portwood recently admitted that she attempted to take her life by overdosing on prescription drugs, specifically opiates.
Rehab made the Teen Mom star star feel self conscious, she said, and being a quasi-celeb makes group settings with other addicts tougher.
She felt "paranoid," she said, and according to the cover above, she's been "targeted" by inmates since being locked up earlier this month.
Guess they're not huge Teen Mom fans.
"In the program there were a lot of eyes on me," the troubled star recalled. "I was very depressed, all alone, just very bitter at everybody."
Of choosing prison over her child, she said, "I felt like I'd rather do my time, and get it over with, and make the best out of the situation."
Hard to say how this is better than ... well, anything. But good luck.
Amber hopes to complete her GED while in jail, stay clean and get a normal job when she's released.
